One of my fondest memories as a kid is getting off the school bus, walking across the yard and being welcomed by the scent of freshly baked cookies pouring through the open windows. That smell still takes me back today which I suppose is one of the reasons I love to bake. There's just something comforting about the smell of chocolate or cinnamon filling up the house, and a good cookie can brighten up the worst day.
I've heard that when you reach your "perfect" job that it is a culmination of everything you have loved all of your life. For me, it is absolutely the truth. I love sweets, I love baking, and I have always loved pretty things like boxes, beads, ribbon, yarn and so on. I am blessed to be able to do what I truly love everyday. It's not a job-it's an opportunity to spread a little TLC and to bring someone a gift that makes them feel special.
TLC Confections & Gifts came about purely by accident. My husband and I used to attend a small church group on Wednesday nights. As my contribution I began to bring a weekly baked good. It became a game to find something new and interesting each week and see what type of reaction I would get from the group. Most things were good but not great, and a few things weren't even ok. The best part was that everyone was honest and gave feedback. One night someone said they thought I should open a business, and that is how it all began.
We started with four really good cookies and bars that people chose again and again, and decided to stick with what the customers asked for. Now that we've been around a while we offer many more choices of cookies, bars, and cakes, and hope that you'll try them all. We also offer monthly specials, coupons and do custom orders so visit us often to see what's new. From my heart to your's I hope you will be reminded of something loving and comforting from your life with each cookie, and that those warm memories will inspire you to pass the TLC along to the people who are special to you.
